Bra Line Back LiftA bra line back lift addresses excess skin and soft tissue along the upper and mid-back that commonly develops after significant weight loss. This area often creates rolls that fold over the bra line, cause irritation, and distort clothing fit. The procedure removes redundant skin through an incision placed along the bra line, allowing it to be concealed beneath undergarments while restoring smoother contour and function.
Benefits of a Bra Line Back Lift
Removes excess skin and rolls along the upper and mid-back
Improves comfort, hygiene, and clothing fit
Incision positioned along the bra line for concealment
Addresses tissue laxity that does not respond to liposuction alone
Often complements other post-weight-loss reconstructive procedures
Who is it best for?
Patients who have completed significant weight loss and have loose, hanging skin across the upper or mid-back that interferes with clothing, comfort, or hygiene. It is especially appropriate when skin laxity is structural rather than purely fatty.
If excess tissue extends lower on the back or is part of more generalized laxity, a more extensive reconstruction may be recommended.
Is liposuction included?
Liposuction alone is usually insufficient for this area after weight loss. I may add targeted liposuction selectively to improve contour, but skin removal is the primary and necessary component of correction.
How does recovery compare to other body lifts?
Recovery is generally straightforward. Most patients return to office type work in around 5-7 days, light activity within one to two weeks. Compression garments are used, and strenuous activity is limited during the early healing phase to protect the incision and support durable results.
