During an arm lift, or brachioplasty, I remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms, creating a more toned and contoured appearance. The procedure typically involves an incision from the underarm area extending along the inside or back of the arm. The incision is place on the inner part of the arm, so when the arm is resting in it's normal position, the incision would be least visible.  If you've lost significant amount of weight and have sagging skin, that won't retract any more, this would likely be the right option for you.  Less severe cases can get away with just liposuction, and having the skin contract up as much as it can.

A mini arm lift targets the same concerns as a traditional arm lift but is suited for patients with less excess skin and fat. The incision for a mini arm lift is smaller, often limited to the underarm area, making this option less invasive. It's ideal for individuals who have mild to moderate skin laxity and wish to avoid the longer scars associated with a full arm lift.

ARM LIFT FAQ's

What is an arm lift (brachioplasty)?
An arm lift, also called brachioplasty, removes excess skin (and, when needed, fat) from the upper arms to reduce “bat wings” and create a smoother contour.

Who is a good candidate?
If you have loose, hanging skin after weight loss or aging—and your weight is stable—you’re likely a candidate. I’ll confirm this during your exam.

Will I need liposuction too?
Often, yes. I frequently combine gentle liposuction with skin removal to refine the shape of the upper arm.

Where are the scars placed?
Typically along the inner arm from the armpit toward the elbow. I plan incision placement to be as concealable as possible and guide you on scar care.

What is recovery like?
Most people return to desk work in about 5 days. You’ll wear a compression garment and avoid heavy lifting for several weeks.

A mini tummy tuck targets the lower abdominal area and if for individuals with a small amount of excess skin and fat below the belly button. Unlike a full tummy tuck, the mini version focuses solely on the area below the belly button.  The belly button remains untouched. During the procedure, loose skin is removed, and liposuction is usually performed of the abdomen and waist. Some people choose the Lipo 360 for optimal results. This procedure can be done under local anesthesia, and you can return to office work after 2 days.

Benefits of a Mini Arm Lift

Less invasive than a full arm lift, with smaller incisions.
Reduced recovery time and scarring.
Improves the appearance of the upper arms with less downtime.
Suitable for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity.
Best suited for treating loose skin on the the upper 1/3 of the arm.
What is a mini-arm lift?
A mini-arm lift treats mild to moderate laxity close to the armpit using a shorter incision hidden in the natural crease.

Who is it best for?
Patients with good skin quality and limited extra skin near the armpit. If laxity extends toward the elbow, a full arm lift may be better.

Is liposuction included?
It can be. I often add targeted liposuction to improve contour when there’s localized fat.

How does recovery compare to a full arm lift?
Generally quicker—many patients return to light work in about a week. You’ll still use compression and avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks.

Will a mini-arm lift give the same result as a full arm lift?
It’s great for the right candidate, but it won’t address significant laxity down the arm. I’ll help you choose the option that meets your goals.

Bra Line Back Lift

Bra Line Back Lift
A bra line back lift addresses excess skin and soft tissue along the upper and mid-back that commonly develops after significant weight loss. This area often creates rolls that fold over the bra line, cause irritation, and distort clothing fit. The procedure removes redundant skin through an incision placed along the bra line, allowing it to be concealed beneath undergarments while restoring smoother contour and function.

Benefits of a Bra Line Back Lift
Removes excess skin and rolls along the upper and mid-back
Improves comfort, hygiene, and clothing fit
Incision positioned along the bra line for concealment
Addresses tissue laxity that does not respond to liposuction alone
Often complements other post-weight-loss reconstructive procedures

Who is it best for?
Patients who have completed significant weight loss and have loose, hanging skin across the upper or mid-back that interferes with clothing, comfort, or hygiene. It is especially appropriate when skin laxity is structural rather than purely fatty.
If excess tissue extends lower on the back or is part of more generalized laxity, a more extensive reconstruction may be recommended.

Is liposuction included?
Liposuction alone is usually insufficient for this area after weight loss. I may add targeted liposuction selectively to improve contour, but skin removal is the primary and necessary component of correction.

How does recovery compare to other body lifts?
Recovery is generally straightforward. Most patients return to office type work in around 5-7 days, light activity within one to two weeks. Compression garments are used, and strenuous activity is limited during the early healing phase to protect the incision and support durable results.

A lower body lift includes a tummy tuck, thigh lift, and buttock lift. Liposuction of waist, bra rolls and back can also be done, as well as fat transfer to the buttocks for the best 360° appearance. It may be partially covered by insurance.

"I suffered from diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, sleep apnea, lack of energy, swollen feet and grumpiness. Best of all I no longer use medicines & no longer suffer from any of the other medical issues. Even my grumpiness has gone away. My PCP was amazed and very impressed. I wish that there was a way to thank Dr. Mehta for what he has done. If I could do it all over again, I would in heart beat with Dr. Mehta."
