HAVING INSURANCE

Most insurance companies do cover bariatric surgery, and pay for the hospital, surgeon & anesthesiologist bills, as well as the pre-operative testing required, so the cost to the patient is minimum.  Since there are many insurance companies and each with different policies; it’s best to contact your insurance company to get accurate information about how you’ll be covered.  Alternatively, our office will be happy to do that for you.

PURCHASING NEW INSURANCE

If you do not have insurance, it is still possible to enroll in insurance that provides adequate coverage for bariatric surgery.  Call our office and speak with our office manager, Lulu, to get details and names of appropriate insurance companies that would work for you.

SELF PAY

For those without adequate insurance, and do not want to purchase new insurance, may choose pay for the surgery.  The cost of Lap-Band®, or the Realize-Band® is $15,500.  The approximate costs of Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass are $16,000 and $26,000 respectively.

APPLYING FOR A LOAN

You may apply for a loan at MyMedicalLoan.com.  This company specializes in giving people medical loans.  It has been working well for most of our patients who choose to take this path.

We do participate in Medicare and all types of surgeries are covered.
